Nissan Looking to Expand Its EV Line-Up

Nissan is hoping to expand its selection of EV cars, such as the popular Nissan Leaf and forthcoming NV200 delivery van.
One opportunity would be to introduce an electric sports car. The automaker unveiled their Esflow 2-door concept in 2010, which had a sporty appearance. Pivo 3, a small city concept car, could be a potential choice.
Another alternative is Townpod EV. This small minivan provides easy access via rear-sliding doors and mass amounts of cargo space. Experts believe it is the best option, as Americans are partial to minivans.
However, it looks as though the automaker may have already made its decision. "It will be a city car," says Andy Palmer, Nissan Motors executive VP for vehicle planning and program management. "It will be in the A/B segment. The car would have to be low-cost. It would be a vehicle where you could potentially accept less range, so you could have a smaller battery."1
And you can guarantee that Teddy Nissan located in the Bronx, NY will be one of the first to present great deals on any future Nissan EVs.
