Nissan Leaf is making a trip overseas for the next generation of street racing. The classic Cannonball Run is taking place in Ireland this year, and will involve a combination of gasoline, diesel and alternative fuel racers riding during it.

The Cannonball Run has evolved over the past 30 years and is no longer a unsafe, coast-to-coast car race. Today the Cannonball Run is a charity event, where supporters and the opportunity to "raise money for Barretstown Camp, which caters to children with cancer and other serious illnesses."¹

The Nissan Leaf's batteries will stay charge through existing charge points as well as the over 600 mile long course. The car will likely use fast-charging and conventional charging stations. This specific Leaf can keep up to almost a 100 mile charge before needing each refills.
