    During his 20+ year career in the retail automotive business, Ted moved up from top salesperson to President and equal owner of one of the largest and most profitable automotive organizations in the world.


    •  1979-1982: Dale Oldsmobile - Bronx, NY
       1982-1984: Potamkin Cadillac - New York, NY
    •  1984-1989: Dale Oldsmobile - Bronx, NY
    •  1989-2001: President of, and equal partner in Potamkin AutoCenter      and later President and partner of Potamkin Mitsubishi, Potamkin Cadillac-Buick-Chevrolet
    •  1999: Sold interest back to the Potamkin organization and CarsDirect.com
    • 2001-Present: Consultant to advertising and retail automotive industries


    Prior to entering the retail automotive profession:


    • At 13, opened first pet supply business
    • At 17, opened Jungle Habitat in Brooklyn, NY; ran it for three years and sold it

    Industry Innovation


    In 1984, Ted created the concept for, implemented, developed and grew the Any Car Store business. Any Car Store served customers who were uncomfortable buying and leasing through a traditional dealership by purchasing for them any car, truck or sport utility vehicle they desired from other dealerships. This business, related to the Potamkin organization, ultimately grew to over 1000 new vehicle sales per month. In 1999, CarsDirect.com acquired Any Car Store.







    Ted is unmarried, he's actively involved in the lives of his immediate and extended family- including a host of nieces and nephews many of whom are his Godchildren.

    These days, when Ted isn't managing his real estate portfolio, he's pursuing an avid interest in health and fitness. Ted is also the consummate New Yorker, enjoying fine dining, the theatre and sporting events.

    Steven Risso, President of Teddy Nissan


    Steven joined Teddy Nissan at its inception in August 2009 as its President/Operating Partner. In this position he is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the entire dealership. He brings over 25 years of retail automotive experience. 

    After only a year and a half in business, Teddy Nissan has broken all sales records in the area and ranks as one of the largest dealers in the United States. For 2011 Teddy Nissan is also on pace for another record year! Teddy Nissan also ranks tops in customer satisfaction in the State of New York, as per dealerrater.com

    Prior to joining Teddy Nissan, Steven worked as a Consultant with the National Automobile Dealers Association, the leading automotive training organization in the world. At N.A.D.A. Steven's primary responsibility was working with dealers nationwide to improve their profitability. During the 2008 banking crisis, Steven was selected by the N.A.D.A to participate on a five member task force to make presentations to the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Standard & Poor's, Merrill Lynch, and Moody's on the subject of dealer floor planning and the TALF stimulus package.

     Prior to NADA, Steven worked as a private consultant to Sayville Ford, the 3rd largest Ford dealer in the New York Region. There he led a companywide turnaround that resulted in a 200% improvement in profits in the first year.
     Prior to joining Sayville Ford, Steve owned and operated Popular Ford sales & Bayridge Ford, in the New York metro area. As the Dealer he increased sales by 140% and became one of the largest dealers in the New York Region. Popular Ford also led the NYC zone for 16 straight years in Customer Satisfaction Scores winning multiple Distinguished Achievement Awards. In 2000 Popular Ford won Fords highest honor The President's Award, which recognizes the top 10% of dealers nationwide that lead in CSI, market share and profitability. Popular Ford was also recognized by Crain's New York Business Magazine as one of New York City's top privately owned companies. Steve sold the dealerships in 2005.

    Steven was born and raised in the Bronx and attended P.S.102, St. Anthony's and St. John's University. Steven now lives on Long Island with his wife and three children.

    Alberto Salcedo joined Teddy Nissan in December of 2009. He brings 9 years of automobile experience. Prior to joining Teddy Nissan, Alberto worked as a sales representatives at Potamkin Volkswagen for 3 years achieving top sales for the Northeast Region. Due to his excellent service and salesmanship he was transferred to Potamkin Honda  where he achieved gold master from COSL (council of sales leaders) which is the highest level a person could reach. This award are earned based on sales volume and customer satisfaction. His customer satisfaction was 99.8%, one of the highest in the Nation.
